I still can’t believe that it is only a year since i got married but it feels like forever. I have been meaning to share with you how i went about choosing this dress. I hope this will give any brides-to-be an insight to a stress free wedding planning (there is definitely such as thing!)
I always wanted to have a private beach wedding somewhere on a tropical island. The first place that came to mind when choosing a location was the Seychelles. Choosing a location was easy but i started thinking about how was I going to turn this dream to reality without having to stress everyone around me.
I started by looking for private Islands in the Seychelles that provided a unique beach wedding. Once I had found the location, I investigated further by finding the ideal wedding package that included everything (reception, flowers, photographer, food, drinks and so on). I must admit that by this time I was in no stress at all because I had a wonderful wedding coordinator from the island who was doing everything for me. All that was waiting was for us to arrive in the Seychelles and get married.
Once the location was sorted, I had to start thinking of how I was going to get my dream wedding dress (by the way, this is 5 months before the wedding when usually the average wise person starts preparing 1 year in advance!). I initially wanted a Vera Wang wedding dress but I was open to the adventures of finding THE dream dress without limiting myself. After flicking through a few wedding magazines, I decided that this wasn’t what i wanted so I decided to find a wedding show. I googled (yes, what will we do without technology!) for wedding shows in London and luckily there was a designer wedding show in two weeks. So I purchased two tickets for me and my fashionista best friend to go and watch some wedding shows and hopefully find my dream dress!
The day for the designer wedding show finally arrived and my fashionista friend, who is never on time, actually arrived early. We arrived at the show and as soon as I saw the Pronovias catwalk show I knew that I was going to get my dress from there. After this, everything else happened so quickly….I scheduled an appointment at the Pronovias boutique in New Bond Street, tried on one dress and knew that was the one!
That’s how I managed to have a stress free wedding planning!
Wishing you a great weekend!

Like a fairytale princess!
Thanks for sharing those very personal memory and all the marvelous pictures!
Your advices are very useful, thanks a bunch! We’re planning to marry since – hmmm – around four years now or so. When we traveled to Mauritius in last year we thought it might be a pretty good idea to plan a wedding somewhere else instead of home. So we’re discussing a) Vegas and b) another tropical island (never Mauritius again…).
Let’s see. Wedding gown has been purchased already
Will keep you posted,
xoxo, s.
that was a marvelous choice – you’re stunning. I’m a bride to be myself so I’m currently going through the whole planning process and trying not to get stressed out. I actually work at a bridal shop and had my dress picked out before it arrived at the store – actually before I even got engaged. As soon as the ring was on my finger I knew which dress I wanted – for some reason I felt as though I had to try on more, which was a frustrating process – almost a year later I ended up going back to the very first dress…I could’ve saved myself the headache right? lol
Ahhh, you truly had a fairtytale wedding.

Hello gorgeous!
You were so beautiful! Ones of the most beautiful brides I ve seen! You look awsome! I love that dress so much!
Congratulations! One year!
Gorgeous dress! I was very tempted by a Pronovias dress myself, but went with a local couture designer. I’ve been married for less than a year myself (our one year is coming up in Sept). and we only planned it 9 months in advance. Like yours, it was actually really stress-free even though ours was abroad as well. I sometimes wonder how women can turn into bridezilla, but I’m glad that never happened
Have a great week my dear!
